Frank attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is a Roycroft Renaissance Master Artisan in Metal since 2003.
Frank’s work is primarily in the Arts & Crafts and Craftsman Style, inspired by the works of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Greene & Greene and the Roycroft Art Metal Shop.
You will find his mailbox and lantern designs on Bungalows, Craftsman, Mission, Prairie and Arts & Crafts style landmark homes in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia — and on some Frank Lloyd Wright designed homes. Now he is passing on his repoussé techniques in workshops where anybody can create beautiful works in metal.
Craftsman Copper is the studio of master coppersmith James Davies. Since beginning his career in 1994 and opening his own studio in, 2005 James has been forging some of the most beautifully designed and meticulously finished American Arts and Crafts lighting pieces since the style’s early 1900’s beginnings.
Craftsman Copper specializes in recreating and expanding upon the aesthetics and design of the hand hammered hollowware lighting popularized by Dirk Van Erp and his contemporaries. All the processes and methods of the original craftsmen from the early 20th century are faithfully adhered to within the walls of our studio. Drawing from a century of solid and gorgeous designs by artists such as Harvey Ellis, August Tiesselinck, and Karl Kipp to name a few, Craftsman Copper can recreate nearly any early design for you, or design and forge something truly unique to adorn your home with.
Joslyn Fine Metalwork opened its doors in 1985 with a single goal – to offering beautifully designed and unique pieces of ironwork. Quality workmanship is the cornerstone of the business along with a genuine desire to give our clients superior service and personal attention. These ideals allow us to create a truly unique and personal experience and, ultimately, works of art that reflect our clients’ personal tastes and style.
We hear from many of our clients that they have never seen anything like the pieces we create: it is our willingness to think outside the box. Imagination and dedication to our ideals bring this work to life. We will continue to create our work as long as we are able and have clients that appreciate the unique over the mundane. After 30 years, we still get excited about beginning new projects. With enthusiasm and passion we dedicate ourselves to every piece and we are confident our clients will be very pleased with the results.

Theodore Ellison Designs has made original leaded glass and lighting for new construction and historic homes all over the United States since 1998. I currently design and construct interior and exterior lighting, cabinetry panels, laylights, and entryways in a variety of styles. My passion for leaded glass stems from a desire to create something truly unique for each individual project. With a keen attention to detail, our company works collaboratively with homeowners, architects, and designers to deliver one-of-a-kind pieces. Every project honors the artistic integrity of classic leaded glass styles, and most projects use glass made specifically for our studio.
