Perhaps it will be called "Arts & Crafts.101 - A Beginner's Guide."
In recognition of the importance new collectors represent to the Arts & Crafts movement, a change has been made in the Friday night format for the first round of seminars at the 24th national Grove Park Inn Arts & Crafts Conference to be held February 18-20 in Asheville, N.C.
In a separate section of the Heritage Ballroom, author Bruce Johnson will present a special seminar designed exclusively for beginning Arts & Crafts collectors. His seminar will explore the English roots of the movement, but then will quickly cover the important makers in various categories: furniture, pottery, metalware, art, books and textiles.
At the same time, but on the opposite side of the divider, the ever-popular and always controversial Dr. Andre Chaves will stimulate the more experienced attendees with his seminar entitled "Consequences of the Arts & Crafts Movement In the 20th Century."
At the close of these two opening 8:00pm seminars, the divider will be pushed back into the wall and both audiences will be in position for the 9:00pm presentation.
The complete roster of seminar speakers will be announced both on this website and at www.Arts-CraftsCollector.com in the coming days.
