It has risen to become the largest Arts & Crafts show and sale in the West.
Over the course of the past sixteen years Arts & Crafts enthusiast and show promoter Penelope Cloutier has worked to build her show “Arts & Crafts – San Francisco” into one of the premier events on the West Coast.
She is bringing it back to the Concourse Exhibition Center in San Francisco for the weekend of August 14-15, where she will assemble more than 150 exhibitors displaying some of the finest examples, both antique and contemporary, of Arts & Crafts furniture, art pottery, metalware, lighting, textiles and art.
Just a sampling of some of the antiques dealers who will be exhibiting at Penelope’s show will give you an idea of the quality you can expect: JMW Gallery, David Surgan, Voorhees Craftsman, Lifetime Antiques, Roblyn Antiques, California Historical Design, Daniel Lees, Paul Freeman and many more.
The same can be said for the list of contemporary craftsfirms who will be represented at the show, including this short sampling: Arts & Crafts Period Textiles, Tim Holton Studio Frame, Craftsman Hardware, Old California Lantern, Caledonia Studios, Bradbury & Bradbury, and many, many more.
In addition to the two-day show and sale, attendees will have the opportunity to meet various authors at the book signing and hear Kevin Hicks and Paul McVicker discuss “A Look Inside the Arts & Crafts Studio: The Ephraim Pottery Perspective.”
On Saturday evening a special open house is planned to benefit the restoration of the William Randolph Thorsen House, a Greene & Green designed masterpiece built in 1909. The house has been owned by the Sigma Phi Society since 1942 and is currently undergoing an extensive restoration. (Pictured here.)
Authors Robert Judson Clark and Ted Bosley will be featured speakers at the Saturday evening open house.
