Toomey & Company Art & Design Auction Preview

The works of Gustav Stickley, Tiffany Studios, Dirk Van Erp, Frank Lloyd Wright, and others are up for the highest bidder at Toomey & Company Art & Design Auction to be held Sunday, June 24th at 10 AM. Previews begin daily Monday, June 18th  10 AM – 5 PM or by appointment. The following pieces are a few examples from the 640 lots up for auction:

 

 

A branded and signed Gustav Stickley mantle clock – made of oak, copper, and leaded glass – comes to the auction out of Eastwood, New York and is 9 inches wide by 13 ¾ inches high by 5 inches deep.

The clock, branded and with a Seth Thomas movement, is estimated at $7,000 to $9,000.

 

 

This bright and colorful hanging shade is a Duffner & Kimberly Company piece from New York City – its Tulip Border décor is made from leaded glass and patinated metal. Signed with a brass tag and measuring 30 ¾ inch diameter by 15 ½ inch height, this colorful shade is estimated at a $5,000 to $7,000 value.

 

 

 

 

The Roycrofters are well-represented with an oak and iron made desk, crafted in East Aurora and signed with an orb and cross. Measuring 58 inches wide, 30 inches deep and 29 inches high, this value of this desk is estimated between $5,000 to $7,000.

 

 

 

 

A Gustav Stickley hexagonal oak table comes to the Toomey & Co Auction from an important Chicago collection. This branded and labelled table measures 54 ½ inches wide by 29 inches high by 47 ½ inches deep and its estimated value is between $3,000 to $5,000.

 

 

 

 

The Teco legacy is well-represented with 10 items in this auction. This example of a Teco-designed ceramic four-handled vase comes by way of Chicago to the auction with multiple impressed signatures and an original sticker. Its matte green glazed dimensions measure at 9 ½ inches diameter by 15 ¼ inches high and its estimated value runs from $4,000 to $6,000.

 

 

 

 

 

With an amazing 36 pieces listed, you can truly find a treasure trove of The Kalo Shop in this auction, like this large paneled sterling silver pitcher. Able to hold six pints, this stamped pitcher measures 7 ¾ inches wide by 5 ¼ inches deep by 9 ½ inches high and its estimated value ranges from $3,000 to $4,000.
