July Is For Pottery Lovers
The best of american art pottery will be on display in Zanesville, Ohio next week.
The Pottery Lovers Show & Sale – the longest running pottery show in the country – will start July 9th through the 13th at the Holiday Inn Express in Zanesville, OH with plenty of opportunities to have some summer fun and connect with fellow collectors.
What makes the show unique? Dealers will set up shop in their hotel rooms and collectors shop from room to room. This affords the buyers/collectors time to speak with the sellers and gain knowledge about the fantastic american art pottery in each room. Sellers dealing in museum-quality antique pieces will be represented in the show as well as contemporary potters.
“The Pottery Lovers Show and Sale has been going on in Zanesville, Ohio, where Roseville, Weller and other potteries were produced, for 40 plus years,” says Arnie Small of Barbara Gerr Antiques. “Dealers from all across the Country come to Zanesville every July with the finest selection of vintage and contemporary pottery. There is something for everyone!”

Tuesday (Evening) July 9, 2019
Grill Fest! – The ‘Grill Fest’ is scheduled for Tuesday evening around 5 PM at the Holiday Inn Express. For Pottery Lovers in town on Tuesday, please join us for some burgers, dogs, and potato salad, compliments of Barbara Gerr Antiques. Fuel up for when room sales open soon after!
Tuesday – Saturday, July 9-13, 2019
Room Sales – Room sales open after the Grill Fest on Tuesday evening and will continue each day through Saturday at 5 PM. Rooms are open for sales at each dealers discretion but most dealers stay open from morning till dinner and then throughout the evening.

Pottery Lovers Show & Tell – This year’s theme is “Green”. Show & Tell will be conducted from 6 – 7 PM with a quick and informal donation pottery auction to follow. An Ice Cream Social, featuring Tom’s Ice Cream, will begin around 7:30 PM or so.

Pottery Lovers Banquet – The banquet will be held on Thursday evening this year so dealers can remain open for sales on Friday evening. It will still be held at the Zanesville Museum of Art at 6:30 PM. A welcoming reception and exhibit begins at 5 PM at the museum. Our speaker will be announced.

Show 9 – 5 PM – Along with dealer room sales, there is a small show, beginning on Friday, that features dealers who couldn’t set up in rooms for the week.
Saturday, July 13, 2019
Show 9 – 4 PM, Room sales end at 5 PM – The show continues until 4 pm and dealer room sales will conclude at 5 PM.
The hospitality desk will be open all week, managed by Alva and Marlene and staffed by volunteers. Collectors can also purchase banquet tickets as well as view and bid on silent auction items at the hospitality desk.
